‘Superstar,’ 1st online singing star search
Reality-TV goes online with “Superstar,” the first online singing star search, which has no less than Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo spearheading the project as endorser. Sarah has also lent her voice in singing its theme song, “This is My Dream.” The concept was unveiled recently by X-Play Online Games Inc. (X-Play), the casual games division of leading online gaming publisher IP e-Games Ventures Inc. (e-Games).
“Superstar” was announced during Domination IV, e-Games’ grand annual celebration held at SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia Complex. “Superstar” will be officially launched as the country’s first online videoke in May.
Domination IV proved to be the perfect venue for “Superstar” as it attracted thousands of gamers just like its previous Domination events. Guest stars included Mark Bautista and Rachelle Ann Go and bands Parokya ni Edgar, Sugarfree and Urbandub.
“With the rising popularity of internet sensations discovered over sites like You Tube and MySpace, ‘Superstar’ which was developed by Shanda Interactive Entertainment, will serve as a big break for those yet to be discovered,” said George Royeca, X-Play’s Chief Operating Officer.

The ‘Secret Garden’ of a beauty queen
A decade and a half ago, beauty-and-brain Tiffany Cuña of Dagupan, Pangasinan was crowned Miss Maja Philippines ’95 in a glittering pageant held at Delta Theater in Quezon City. After that, she was sent to compete in the Miss Maja International competition held in Puerto Rico where she emerged one of the Top 10 finalists. Right now, Tiffany still has good looks to behold with nary a trace of the passing years in her whole being.
Just recently, Tiff (her nickname) launched “Secret Garden” scent in a private venue with invited few – mostly friends from the press and dealers.
When asked why “Secret Garden” is the trade mark of her environmental friendly scent, her answer revealed her romantic and peace-loving nature. “Because garden is the place where love blooms and romantics meet.’’
Admired and complimented for her fluent and engaging style of hosting that afternoon, the management graduate proudly and playfully admitted “It’s one of my gifts! Event hosting is my forte.’’
When one from the group of press people suggested that Tiff should try TV hosting and even movies, seconded by another and another who said “Miss Tiffany, you can pass as Ate to Anne Curtis, and to other pretty younger stars” – to their delight, she flashed a sweet smile and gamely exclaimed “Why not?”
But inside the charming appearance, Tiffany, a mom to 10-year-old son Riley and 15 months old daughter Ashley Nicole, is a woman of charity. She has a mission of helping impoverished babies afflicted with dreadful diseases.
