2 high-risk inmates bolt S. Cotabato jail

By Joseph Jubelag Koronadal City, South Cotabato — Authorities have launched manhunt operations against two high-risk inmates who bolted the provincial jail last Monday. Provincil jail warden Juan Lanzaderas said jail personnel and policemen were hot on the trail of Oting Mando, a resident of Lambayong, Sltan Kudarat, who is facing illegal drug charges; and Andy Evangelista of Norala, South Cotabato who has been charged with three counts of carnapping. Lanzaderas said the inmates escaped by destroying the padlock of their detention cell, and scaling the concrete fence at the back portion of the provincial jail facility at dawn Monday. He said a shoot-to-kill order has been issued against the two escapees who are considered high-risk and dangerous. Evangelista, a notorious carnap gang leader, had previously bolted the provincial jail in 2015, but was recaptured several months later. The two inmates made good their escape despite the tight security implemented at the provincial jail facility which now houses more than 1,000  inmates.
