The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) announced that a total of 30 candidates are vying for a vacant seat at the Court of Appeals (CA).

Supreme Court (SC) clerk of court and JBC ex officio secretary Edgar Aricheta released on Friday the list of candidates for the post.
Among them, 15 will undergo public interview before the JBC scheduled on September 4 and 5.
Those who will be interviewed on September 4 are Alfredo Ampuan, Emerson Aquende, Emily San Gaspar-Gito, Aida Santos, Racquelen Abary-Vasquez, Lorenza Bordios, Maria Amifaith Fider-Reyes, and Raymond Reynold Lauigan.
While, those who will be interviewed on September 5 are Emma Matammu, Rosalyn Mislos-Loja, Acerey Pacheco, Loida Posadas-Kahulugan, Rosanna Fe Romero-Maglaya, Dax Xenos, and Encarnacio Jaja Moya.
Arichate said the 15 other candidates have previous interviews which remain valid.
They are Ma. Theresa Aban-Camannong, Joeffre Acebido, Selma Alaras, Rowena Apao-Adlawan, Lily Biton, Irin Zenaida Buan, Carlito Calpatura, Danilo Cruz, Rowena De Juan-Quinagoran, Madonna Echiverri, Mia Joy Oallares-Cawed, Vilma Pauig, Angelene Mary Quimpo-Sale, and Esteban Tacla Jr.
On the other hand, among the 30 vying for the post, Aricheta said “the public may submit to the JBC a sworn complaint, report, or opposition against any of the aforesaid candidates.”
The JBC opened applications for a vacant seat at the CA after then Associate Justice Socorro Inting got appointed on May 3 as commissioner of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Inting filled the vacancy left by Comelec Commissioner Arthur Lim who retired in February
