Seventeen more overseas Filipinos have tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a report on Monday.
No new recovery and new fatality among Filipinos abroad was recorded in the latest tally from the DFA.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 16,423.
Those who have recovered since the outbreak began in February last year are now 10,060.
A total of 5,314 overseas Filipinos are still undergoing treatment while 1,049 died due to coronavirus infections.Â
To date, the total number of countries and territories with confirmed cases among overseas Filipinos remains at 90.Â
The Middle East and Africa is the region with the most numbers in all categories, namely confirmed cases (9,078); recoveries (4,963); under treatment (3,440), and deaths (675).
