BUTUAN CITY – At least 283 sub-projects of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services: Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (KALAHI-CIDSS:KKB) were already completed in the Caraga Region.

Region 13 office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD 13) Director Mercedita Jabagat said the projects that were spread all over the region already benefited thousands of poor people in the countryside, particularly those living in far-flung areas.

Jabagat said the KALAHI-CIDSS:KKB program is the contribution of the DSWD to the poverty alleviation program of the national government.

KALAHI-CIDSS: KKB is a revitalized strategy based on the strength or success of the existing CIDSS project, she added.

The program was first implemented by the DSWD in 2003 and had covered 16 municipalities in the Caraga Region, said Jabagat.

She said that among the completed 283 sub-projects include potable water systems, roads, school buildings, post-harvest facilities, environmental protection structures, and day-care centers.

The amount taken from the grant fund for the project in the Caraga Region is P241, 977, 967.19.

While the Local Cash Counterpart (LCC) downloaded by partner local government units (LGUs) totaled P80,187,132.84.
