Firm assures uninterrupted power supply
SAN JOSE, Antique — The Antique Electric Cooperative Inc. (ANTECO) gave its assurance that there will be uninterrupted supply of electricity on Monday as voters troop to their respective precincts for the national and local elections.
The cooperative, being one of the institutions tasked by the Commission on Election (Comelec) to provide power on polling precincts and voting centers, have already made its contingency plans to ensure that the electric distribution system and facilities will be fully operational to provide continuous supply of power before and during the event.
Electricians were authorized by ANTECO to conduct visual inspection of electrical wiring and installations of the school building and classrooms that will be utilized as polling precincts, conduct repair and coordinate with school representatives for appropriate action on their findings.
As part of ensuring the security of vital facilities, the cooperative had requested assistance from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to appoint at least one PNP personnel for the four sub-station facilities of ANTECO from the eve of election until the end of the canvassing.
In the event of power supply deficiency from the generating companies during the election, manual load shedding or rotating brown-outs will be enforced.
However, villages with identified precincts will be least prioritized from load curtailment.
