Tagle and Pope Francis exchanged hugs as they greeted each other during one of the most anticipated events of the Catholic faith as seen in a photo posted by CBCP News.
The 2019 WYD was attended by around 250 Filipino delegates.
CBCP News reported that Pope Francis arrived in Panama on January 23 to join thousands of delegates from all over the world.
The Philippines in the past has hosted WYD, being a predominantly a Catholic country and has even been visited by Pope Francis himself in 2015.
The Pope has time and again praised the Filipinos for their strong faith and heart-warming hospitality.
