GMA, Pineda winning big in Pampanga

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her ally Pampanga senior board member Lilia “Baby” Pineda both won by large margins in the congressional race in the second district of Pampanga and gubernatorial race based on the Tuesday’s partial and unofficial canvassing of votes.

As of 9 a.m., President Arroyo got partial l05,337 votes against her three opponents, whose combined scores with 12,493 votes in the 75 percent elections unofficial Comelec tally in four of the six municipalities in the Pampanga Second District towns of Lubao, Sta Rita, Sasmuan and Guagua.

As of of 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, Pineda dominated Governor Ed “Among” Panlilio by large margin with the partial and unofficial tally leads of over 200,000 votes.

Pineda, she got 426,900 votes against Panlilio who received only 210,603 votes from transmitted election returns.

Also in Pampanga, another contender for governor Ricardo Ocampo Sr. got 8,377 votes.

A known close ally of President Arroyo, Pineda ran under the administration party Lakas-Kampi-CMD while Panlilio ran under the Liberal Party.

In Angeles City, Subic-Clark Alliance bet, Ed Pamintuan, was also leading against incumbent Mayor Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno, 43,867 to 22,644 votes based on the count of 49 percent of the total votes cast.

In Mabalacat, incumbent Mayor Marino ‘Boking’ Morales won by a landslide over three opponents, including his daughter Marjorie Sambo.

Incumbent Sto. Tomas Mayor Lito Naguit is also winning via landslide over his lone opponent Regie Mallari.

In Arayat, incumbent Mayor Luis “Chito” Espino together with Vice Mayor Larry Trinidad also won the mayoralty and vice mayoralty race in this town.

In Zambales, former Public Works Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. won against incumbent Zambales Governor Deloso.

In Olongapo City, incumbent Representative Mitos Magsaysay of the first district of Zambales won with 70 percent of the votes cast against incumbent Zambales Vice Gov. Ann Gordon who only got 30 percent, while incumbent Olongapo City Mayor James Gordon won by overwhelming majority against former Zambales Governor Vicente Magsaysay.
