SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda says that the province of Pampanga was not in such a dire condition as to necessitate imposing a lock down.
Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda
Pineda also denied reports circulation on social media that he was going to declare a lockdown in the province because of the entry of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Yung mga nagbibigay ng fake news na nagkakalat sa social media na pinag-aaralan ko yung pagla-lock down ng province, Hindi po, wag po kayong maniniwala doon .” Pineda said.
The governor also pleaded with the public, specially parents of children with fever or those exhibiting symptoms of sickness to not attend school. He stressed that strict security measures on public places were now being implemented throughout the Pampanga.
According to Delta, public and private schools must have contingency plans just in case there would be a detected case in the province. He also opened the idea of home schooling as an option to lessen exposure of children outside house.
“In case na magkakaroon tayo ng case sa province, dapat may option B na po lahat ng eskwelahan, public and private kung cancel na po ang klase, kung home study nalang, kung ano po ang gagawin for second option.” He added.
He also said that the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital (JBLMH) was ready and equipped to accommodate persons under monitoring (PUMs).
According to him, JBLMH was the only hospital that has the capacity to handle cases of COVID 19 in the province.
“May separate room tayo doon, may separate na building for quarantine room nawala po tayong dapat ikatakot ,” he explained.
The provincial government also has close coordination with the Department of Health (DOH) in monitoring PUMs and persons under investigation (PUIs).
“Ang mga tao na dapat nating imonitor binababa po natin sa Mayor yan at ibababa to barangay official up to barangay health worker, rural health unit, and municipal health unit” ,” Pineda assured.
Still, no confirmed case of COVID19 in Pampanga has been reported, but precautionary measures were already being practiced, according to the governor.
