Duterte duo wins in Davao
DAVAO CITY (PNA) – The Board of Canvassers (BoC) here proclaimed on Wednesday afternoon Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio and Rodrigo R. Duterte as mayor and vice mayor of Davao City respectively and three members of the House of Representatives representing the congressional districts of the city.
BoC chairman lawyer Danilo A. Cullo, who is also election officer of Comelec for Davao City's first district, led the proclamation certifying the official canvass where Sara Duterte won in the electoral race as mayor garnering total votes of 389,465 and Rodrigo Duterte as vice mayor with 440,030 votes.
But both father and daughter did not appear during the proclamation at the Sangguniang Panglungsod in Davao City.
The two other members of the BoC were lawyer Asteria E. Cruzabra, regional director of Land Registration Authority as vice chairman of the BoC and Davao City School Division Superintendent Helen D. Paguican of the Department of Education (DepEd) as the BoC secretary.
It may be recalled that the father Duterte ruled Davao City as mayor for over two decades and opted to run as vice mayor of his daughter during the May 10, 2010 elections after completing his third term this year.
