‘My Darling Aswang’ a good reason to switch to TV5
Yes, “My Darling Aswang” is the new Sunday night viewing habit on TV5, and all because one expects total entertainment from Vic “Bossing” Sotto who gets to show his funny and romantic side. A spin-off of the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival topgrosser “Ang Darling Kong Aswang,” “My Darling Aswang” is the very first sitcom project of Vic and his production arm M-Zet Productions on TV5.
The fantasy-horror-comedy, directed by Bert de Leon, has Victor Catacutan (Vic) playing the role of an imaginative horror writer who moves from the province to pursue his horror-fiction writing in Manila where he meets Bella (Daiana Menezes), his beautiful neighbor with whom he falls in love. Unknown to him, Bella is the daughter of Demet (Miguel Faustmann), a vampire from Transylvania, and Tasha (Techie Agbayani), an aswang from the Visayas.
In Manila, Victor gets to meet and live with the motley gang of Mel (Richie D’Horsie), Gas (Jose Manalo), and Bal (Wally Bayola) who he also works with at the Triple C (Call Center Canteen). Adding to the comedy and confusion is Mel’s mother Aling Idang (Ces Quesada), the canteen owner and neighborhood “tsismosa.”
Also featured in the sitcom is “StarStruck” avenger Rhea Nakpil who plays Dindin, the funny teenage “tindera” at the sari-sari store in the neighborhood where most of Aling Idang and her friends’ gossipmongering about the aswang family takes place.
“My Darling Aswang” airs every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. on TV5.

KC, a very good TV interviewer
We’ve seen KC Concepcion do interviews on “The Buzz” and we’ve always been impressed by her natural and spontaneous style. Her interview with Sam Milby last Sunday was to say the least, remarkably interesting and candid.
In any field that she gets into – whether acting, hosting or singing – KC always proves that she can be very good.
By the way, KC is also a songwriter now. In her second album under Sony Music, simply titled “KC,” she wrote three songs “Magandang Umaga,” “Takip Silim” and “Worth The Wait,” to which she also provided the music. KC used to write poems when she was younger. She describes her sophomore album as “more personal” than the first (platinum-selling “aka Cassandra”) which was “more sensitive and romantic” she said.
“KC” is a 12-track album featuring among others “Hulog,” “Naantig Ako Sa ‘Yo,” “Girl Most Likely To,” and “Tayo.”
