NBI arrests priest for 'qualified seduction, photo-video voyeurism, child exploitation'

A priest has been arrested in Solana town in Cagayan for allegedly threatening a teenage girl to release their sex video online.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the NBI identified the arrested priest as Fr. Karole Reward U. Israel.
The NBI said Israel was arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by its Cagayan Valley District Office (NBI-CAVRO) last Oct. 18.
The complaint against the priest was filed by the victim.
“Accompanied by her parents, the victim reported before the NBI-CAVRO that Subject called her demanding for sexual favor otherwise he will post publicly the videos he obtained during their sexual encounter,” the NBI said.
With his arrest, Israel was presented for inquest before the Tuguegarao Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for qualified seduction under the Revised Penal Code; violation of Republic Act No. 9995, the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009; and violation of 7610, the Special Protection of children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Law.
