CAGAYAN – Officials of the provincial government here are reminding its people to strictly observe the existing Minimum Public Health Standards and to get vaccinated for additional protection against Covid-19.
The reminder came following a report that new cases of Covid-19 in Cagayan reached almost one hundred on Wednesday, August 3.
The data as of August 3, 2022, were based on the latest record from the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU).
It appears from the PESU data that 76% of those who got sick were infected from local transmission, while the remaining number came from community transmission.
There are now 26 towns in Cagayan province that are still affected by Covid-19, with only Rizal, Sta. Praxedes and the island of Calayan have no confirmed cases of the virus.
According to the report, 98 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in 19 places in Cagayan.
