It’s nice to know that some showbiz celebrities and actors aren’t there just for the money, fame and glamour. One such admirable TV, movie and stage actor is Richard Quan, who has promised to continue his works of charity this 2010.

Through the Loreta Malalang Foundation (named after Richard’s mother), the actor has been receiving invitations from different charitable organizations asking for his ge-nerous contribution.

“Since we started ope-ration in 2004, many groups have been asking our foundation to help them in different ways. We can either contribute food, clothes, medicine, school supplies or even housing materials.”

Richard takes time out to personally attend to his charity works. He makes sure that he is in control of the operation even if it means juggling between his showbiz schedules.

Richard just finished doing the afternoon series “Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?”

Last March 9, Richard did painting and repairs for an orphanage, RSCC or Research and Study Center or Children under DSWD. He donated paints and other repair materials in order to make the orphanage look new again.

Last May 7, he distri-buted diapers for Munting Tahanan in Mabalacat, Pampanga. The center takes care of physically and mentally-ill children. On the same date, Richard’s group visited an Aeta site, Villa Maria in Porac, Pampanga for the restoration of the community’s water system.

And on Tuesday, June 8, the foundation will be giving out scholarship grants to two deserving kids in cooperation of He Cares.

By the way, for those who wish to donate, you can visit the Loreta Malalang Foundation office at Unit 214, Golden Crescent Mansion, R. Alvaro St., Loyola Heights, QC. For more information about the various charity projects of the foundation, see it on Facebook (www.facebook/richardmquan@yahoo.com) or on Twitter (http://twitter.richardmquan).
