Man wanted for illegal possession of firearms, ammos arrested in Caloocan

The Southern Police District (SPD) announced the arrest of a 31-year-old man wanted for illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions in Caloocan City on Tuesday, August 22.

The SPD said the suspect, identified as Jeffrey Caranza, was arrested at around 2:00 p.m. along Talimusak St., Kaunlaran Village, Caloocan City.

Col. Froilan Uy, Pasay City police chief, reported to SPD that members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) conducted manhunt operations against wanted persons, one of which led to the arrest of Caranza.

Uy said Caranza, who was facing violation of Republic Act 10591 known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulations Act, was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Rowena Nieves Adena Tan of Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 118 on June 1, 2023.

He said the suspect was immediately detained at the Pasay police custodial facility after his arrest.
