You could take home a Fiesta, in a much smaller scale of course, Ford executives teased the crowd at the launch of the ConnectWithFiesta digital campaign in Bonifacio High Street, Taguig last week. They took the jest one step further by unveiling the new Ford Fiesta in a box made to look like a life size version of a scale model toy.

Before the car arrives in three to four months’ time, Ford hopes to whip up a Fiesta Frenzy by providing the public with three online portals in which to connect with and learn more about the upcoming Ford Fiesta subcompact. The portals are a means for Ford Fiesta followers not only to connect with the car but with other followers in the region as well.

The first of which is www.ConnectWithFiesta.com. Here, visitors have access to articles, pictures, video, twitter posts and polls on the Ford Fiesta. The media in the site is gathered from Fiesta related events and activities all across the region.

www.Ford.com.ph, on the other hand, is the Ford Philippines corporate website that serves up showroom and service locations as well as product information to the user. For the Fiesta digital campaign, the Ford corporate website practices permission marketing in capturing visitors' basic information that will support updates and marketing information leading to the public launch of the new Ford Fiesta.

The third platform in the campaign takes advantage of the social media site, Facebook. Facebook users need only search for "Ford Fiesta in the Philippines," click on the link to the fan page and click the “Like” button on the page. This instantly qualifies one to join the Fiesta Scale Model giveaway promotion. Winners will be randomly selected and the promotion will run through June 3 to Sept. 30, 2010.

Five Limited Edition Fiesta Scale Models will be given away every week starting from June 18 to Sept. 30, 2010. One daily winner will be drawn from Monday to Friday. Winners will be announced on the Ford Fiesta in the Philippines Facebook page and be notified via email or Facebook Personal Message commencing the third week of June 2010. Winners will likewise be announced on Connectwithfiesta.com.

“Our experience across the world tells us that the Ford Fiesta is the vehicle of choice for this active breed of bold, stylish and confident individuals who love to be engaged through different touch points,” explained Steven Tan, Ford Group Philippines Vice President of marketing and sales of this new strategy. “Ford Group Philippines connects with a new generation of Filipinos who live their lives connected to the digital space. We have followed the global success of the Fiesta in the digital environment and we cannot be more excited to bring the same phenomena to our shores.”

Alongside the online activities, the Ford Fiesta 1:1 scale model display will be touring different malls around Metro Manila. The Fiesta toy box will be in Toy Con 2010 at the Megatrade Hall 2-3 and at SM Megamall from June 19-20.

As for the real Fiesta, it will be available in three to four months’ time in both sedan and hatchback form. It will be powered by a 1.5 liter gasoline engine and the top of the line model will be equipped with Ford’s PowerShift dual clutch technology. No price has been revealed yet, though with three portals to access and a scale model up for grabs, prospective buyers will certainly have a lot to celebrate about.
