They all have talent, they bested their competitors in their respective rounds and their performances were all viewed on YouTube. And the only way one of the 12 finalists of the first season of “Pilipinas Got Talent” will emerge the winner is if he/she is able to convince nationwide viewers of the said talent-reality show to vote for them after their final performance on Saturday, June 12, at the Araneta Coliseum.

Even 16-year-old singer from Rosario, Batangas Jovit Baldovino, the show’s so-called YouTube sensation, is not 100 percent confident that he’ll win the P2-million cash prize at stake and reach his goal to relieve his family from poverty.

“I’m still scared because they won’t be chosen finalists if they are not very talented,” expressed Jovit in Filipino.

Jovit’s YouTube clip of his performances is said to have more viewers than the other 11 “Pilipinas Got Talent” finalists and has been marketed and promoted by ABS-CBN through news releases about the show. They hype them even as some finalists had conceding already while others are still hopeful of becoming the first grand winner of “Pilipinas Got Talent.”

“We know who’s going to win,” said Karen Angluben Navarette-Anton of the dance group finalist Baguio Metamorphosis. “It’s okay with us because he won the hearts of the crowd and the masses which is very important.’’

The ventriloquist-finalist Ruther Urquia commented, “Actually Jovit was an unexpected favorite. I was really surprised with his talent. I think he captured the heart of the Filipinos… but I’m not threatened…”

On the other hand, singer Ingrid Payaket explained, “No matter how much a contestant is promoted, it will always depend on the viewers.’’

Magician finalist Allan “Alakim” de Paz may have the ability to say “abracadabra” and conjure himself as the grand winner, but he knows that the reality would be for him to mesmerize audience with his performance this Saturday.

The other finalists, Fil-Norwegian Makki Stroem, singer Sherwin Baguion, guitarist Keith Delleva, dance group Velasco Brothers, Ezra Band, vocal family group. Luntaya Family and violinist and pianist Jeline Olivia all believed that being in YouTube helps and is okay since like Jovit, they all have different talents to showcase.

Saturday night will be performance night where the finalists are expected to give more than 100 percent in their performances. Insiders from the show explained that the judges, Ai Ai delas Alas, Freddie M. Garcia and Kris Aquino are there only to comment on a performance or X it if they didn’t like it.

Bottom line, text and online voting will determine the first grand winner of “Pilipinas Got Talent” and who will go home with the P2-million cash prize. The winner will be announced on Sunday (June 13), the show’s culminating night.
