Just recently, ABS-CBN’s prized star Angel Locsin and definitely one of the country’s most talented and sexiest female stars, and the 2010 Superbods winners were introduced to the media as the new faces of Century Tuna’s fit and active lifestyle campaign. They joined Derek Ramsay, another Kapamilya Network’s popular star, as celebrity health ambassadors of Century Tuna.

Said Angela Gamboa, Century Tuna senior product manager: “Century Tuna is keen at aggressively promoting a lifestyle of health and fitness among our consumers.”

Both Angel and Derek impressed the press and TV reporters with their enviable figure and physique. Asked what preparation she made to achieve such physical fitness, Angel said “nag-exercise ako ng matindi, and of course kumain ako nang Century Tuna.” But seriously, she said she had been biking. At 25, Angel has maintained that gorgeous body that always makes her a favorite cover girl. In the past, she was even named the country’s Sexiest Female Celebrity.

At ABS-CBN, which she eventually joined amid controversies and issues, Angel took on more serious roles in equally successful teleseryes like “Only You” and “Lobo” where she earned a Best Actress nomination at the prestigious Emmy Awards.

In films, Angel has proven her acting mettle in such films as “I Will Always Love You,” “The Promise,” “Love Me Again,” “Sigaw,” “Mano Po 3,” and “Angels” which she also produced. Aside from being an established actress, Angel also became a sought-after celebrity endorser.

Like Derek, Angel is also a natural sports lover, who was actually a competitive swimmer before becoming a star. After joining showbiz, she got more active in challenging sports like Muay Thai, boxing and diving.

Derek’s new film

Derek is currently taping for his next teleserye “Magkaribal” where he co-stars with two of the country’s most beautiful and successful actresses, Gretchen Barretto and Bea Alonzo.

“Magkaribal” comes on the heels of Derek and Judy Ann Santos’ second team-up “Habang May Buhay” which ended last month.

Aside from “Magkaribal,” Derek is also doing a new film, something he said he wasn’t keen on accepting at first. It’s a horror-love story which pairs him with Erich Gonzales. Directed by Richard Somes, “naiiba ito that’s why I’m so excited,” Derek told us. “I play a very challenging role here in ‘Corazon,’ which is my first indie movie.” He knew from the start that he won’t be paid as much as his shows and movies in ABS-CBN, but “it’s now always the money that counts,” he said.

The new Superbods

The four new Superbods chosen to reflect Century Tuna’s commitment to aggressively spread the importance of a healthy lifestyle among Filipinos are 18-year-old nursing student Lea Yosalina, 21-year-old psychology student Jillian Lua, 21-year-old TV host/model Penzie Ongkiko, and 23-year-old civil engineer Van Vincent Leano.

Noticeable change in ‘Party Pilipinas’

With the improvements done for “Party Pilipinas,” GMA-7’s Sunday afternoon show that replaced “SOP,” many are now saying the show is worth staying at home to watch it.

The show’s improvements are noticeable. Truly significant is that “Party Pilipinas” has an impressive stage, high-quality lighting, better camera angles/shots and astounding production numbers.

“Party Pilipinas” is now handled by two teams led by directors Mark Reyes and Rico Gutierrez.

The production number of Rachelle Ann Go last week, who was singing while hanging mid-air then positioned herself upside down before she was lowered to the stage, and the production number of Kyla with Kris Lawrence and Joshua Desiderio, who both played their baby grand pianos live, were two of the many unforgettable production numbers in “Party Pilipinas” last Sunday.

Today, June 13, “Party Pilipinas” offers another exciting Sunday afternoon as it unveils an all-Pinoy celebration. In the episode dubbed as “Pula…Bughaw…Dilaw, The Philippine Independence Day Special,” “Party Pilipinas” pays tribute to the icons of the music and entertainment industry like Apo Hiking Society, Eraserheads, Francis Magalona and more. Gracing the “Party Pilipinas Independence Day Celebration” is Korea’s hottest boy group – U-KISS!”
