NBI raid yields P3.5 million worth of computers
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Monday seized some P3.5 million worth of computer sets and installers during a raid in a recruitment firm in Quezon City.
Raided was Pan-Asia Manpower and General Services at 100 Kapiligan St., Barangay Dona Imelda, Quezon City.
The raid stemmed from the complaints lodged by Microsoft Corp., Adobe System Inc. and Autodesk Inc. for charges of violation of copyright infringement under Republic Act 8293 otherwise known as the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
Investigation conducted by NBI Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) under lawyer Dante Bonoan revealed that the NBI team was armed with search warrants issued by Judge Amor A. Reyes, of the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 21, when the operatives conducted the operation recently.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of 22 complete sets of computer, 28 Microsoft installers and four AutoCad installers worth P3,554,000.
The NBI is regularly conducting raids based on complaints brought to its office.
