Performing as a solo artist during his 2006 tour, Per Sørensen of Fra Lippo Lippi still gets excited as he returns to the Philippines to perform for his fans. During his exclusive Zoom press conference on May 23 , Per shared why he loves his Pinoy fans whenever he returns. "What I love about my Filipino fans is that they give so much to me and the band. They are really great singers and very vocal in every way, they are very welcoming," he said. His love for performing and connecting with the audience is one of the things that Per is looking forward to. "I love meeting the new audience and performing; that's what I've been looking forward to, and lastly, to have fun," he added. Fra Lippo Lippi made a name in the '80s for producing classic tunes such as "Everytime I See You," "Beauty and Madness," "Stitches and Burns," "Light and Shade," "The Distance Between Us," "Angel," among others. Although the co-founding member and bassist, Rune Kristoffer, called it quits, Per continued to make their band present by touring all over the country and making the Philippines one of its regular stops. Aside from bringing back their hit song, he also mentioned working on new songs. "After a while, I've written a lot. I've had many, many, many songs on my phone and demos that helped me out, but for now, there is no album, but I'm currently working on a song that can be good for Christmas because I haven't done that," he said. In 2002, Per Sorensen and his band released "Later," a chart-topping smash in Asia and the rest of Europe. He even collaborated with Filipino R&B star Kyla on "Wish We Were Two," which garnered heavy airplay on various top 40 stations in Manila and major cities across the Philippines. This year, he is set to headline the concert as the prominent personality behind Fra Lippo Lippi, performing some of the band's greatest hits and some rarities. This event is supported by Steve Hovington of B-Movie, who will be performing with Fra Lippo Lippi's Per Sorensen at both venues: The Theatre at Solaire on Friday, June 16, and the Santa Rosa Sports Complex on Saturday, June 17. The event is presented by New DMC Entertainment Production Management, Maui & Sons, and The Rail.
