CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police arrested two wanted persons on September 7 in checkpoints in line with the barangay elections in the province of Aurora next month.
The suspects were identified as Eleuterio Areola and Nazer Lozano.
Areola was apprehended in Dingalan for driving a motorcycle without a helmet and a license. Police later found out that Areola had a warrant of arrest for attempted murder with bail set at P120,000.
Lozano, 36, was flagged down as he passed through a checkpoint and was later discovered to be a wanted individual for estafa.
Police Regional Office-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. lauded the achievement and credited the checkpoints for the arrest of the suspects.
The Commission on Elections established these checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of the public and apprehend individuals violating the Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines during the election period.
