In observance of the Season of Creation, the Laudato Si’ Movement Philippines will once again lead the Walk for Creation on Friday, Sept. 15.

The public is enjoined to participate in the symbolic walk for environmental protection from 5 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Diocesan Shrine of Jesus the Divine Word in Quezon City.
The Walk for Creation aims to spread awareness on the importance of unity and solidarity in caring for our common home as responsible stewards of God’s creation.
Aside from the symbolic walk, a fellowship and ecumenical service will be led by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Ecumenical Affairs, Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, and the National Council of Churches in the Philippines.
The observance of the Season of Creation begins on Sept. 1 to coincide with the Vatican’s World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. It ends on Oct. 4, on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of the environment.
In the country, the observance ends on the second Sunday of October to coincide with Indigenous Peoples’ Sunday in recognition of the important role played by the indigenous peoples in the environment.
