Bulacan police seize over P170,000 illegal drugs, arrest 17 suspects in anti-crime ops

Bulacan police seized P170,060 worth of illegal drugs and arrested eight drug suspects and nine gamblers in anti-criminality operations conducted on Jan. 5 and 6.
Reports submitted to Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, showed that the drug sting conducted by the City of San Jose del Monte (CSJDM) Police Station in Brgy. Graceville led to the arrest of one drug suspect.
The suspect yielded seven sachets of suspected marijuana and two bricks of suspected dried marijuana worth around P90,000.
Meanwhile, the Station Drug Enforcement Units (SDEU) of Sta. Maria, Bustos, Malolos, Plaridel, Calumpit, and Pulilan launched separate drug busts.
Seven drug suspects were arrested. Seized from them were 30 sachets of suspected shabu with a standard price of P80,060, and five sachets of suspected marijuana.
The suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) for appropriate examination, while charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the suspects.
Separate anti-illegal gambling operations were conducted by San Jose del Monte, Norzagaray, and San Ildefonso Police Stations, leading to the arrest of nine illegal gamblers.
The suspects were caught in the act of playing an illegal card game (tong-its) and cara y cruz.
Another suspect was nabbed while collecting bets intended for the Small Town Lottery (STL) without certification from STL franchise.
Confiscated from the suspects were one set of playing cards, STL booklets, and bet money in different denominations.
