Catholic Church presents agenda to Aquino
The Catholic Church will present a 12-point agenda to President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III during Mass on Wednesday at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila.
In a radio interview, Fr. Anton Pascual of Caritas Manila said the 12-point list basically consists of the Church’s different advocacies based on Catholic teachings.
He said this is an expression of the Church’s prophetic moral voice for the country and the poor. But the intention of the Mass, Pascual said, is to pray for the success of the new administration.
“This is for the success of P-NOY administration,” he said over Church-run Radio Veritas 846.
Pascual assured the new President of the Church’s critical collaboration.
“The Church will continue her critical collaboration with the state for the benefit of the country and the poor,” he said.
Pascual said he is hoping that Aquino and other winning candidates will be able to attend the event. (Leslie Ann G. Aquino)
