Cesar Montano accepts ‘Wowowee’ stint sans telling Willie

Actor Cesar Montano gave a frank answer when asked if he informed original “Wowowee” host Willie Revillame about his stint on the show starting July 3.
“Hindi. It was offered to me [at] pag gusto ko [ay] tatanggapin ko, kung ayaw ko [ay] tatanggihan ko. Di ko kailangan magpaalam kay Willie dahil di naman si Willie ang manager ko, kaibigan ko lang siya,” he said in an interview aired on “Umagang Kay Ganda,” July 2.
Cesar, who will be hosting the game show for “a few days,” added that he would have accepted the first time ABS-CBN offered it to him if not for another commitment.
“Kasi naman [ay] paalis na ako [papunta] sa China [that time]. May ticket, naka-book na ako. It’s a great opportunity for me [to host ‘Wowowee’] kasi madami akong maseserbisyuhan kaso paalis na ako [then] at di ko matanggihan ang commitment ko,” he said.
Following a protracted controversy involving Revillame and journalist Jobert Sucaldito, the former and ABS-CBN management agreed for the host to take an indefinite leave from the show.
Since then, other celebrities have pinch-hit for him including Robin Padilla, Rico J Puno, Rey Valera, Marco Sison, Nonoy Zuniga, Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano.
However, most of these guest hosts, if not all, informed Willie of their stint on “Wowowee” prior to accepting it.
