World's biggest book sale coming to Iloilo

ILOILO CITY – The world’s biggest book sale is coming to this city for the first time.

Big Bad Wolf will hold a book sale at SM City Iloilo from October 13 to 22.

“Since we started in the Philippines in 2018, we always wanted to bring it to Iloilo. We waited for the right time and the right opportunity,” said Andrew Yap, Big Bad Wolf co-founder and managing director.

“It’s our responsibility. The smaller cities actually need books more than the big cities. It’s very important to bring the book sale outside of (Metro) Manila,” Yap said on Thursday, October 5.

Iloilo is the second venue for the Visayas. Big Bad Wolf wrapped up its book sale in Cebu on October 1.

The nine-day book sale in Iloilo will have over two million books available.

People from Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental were encouraged to come to the Big Bad Wolf book sale.

According to Yap, book enthusiasts from Western Visayas can enjoy up to 90 percent discount on selected books, including best sellers, classics, contemporary fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, cookbooks, design books, architecture books, and children’s books.
