Creating MS Office chart templates
After you have created and saved a custom chart and plan to use it again, you can save it as a template for future use.
To create a chart template based on an existing chart:
1. Select the chart and go to the Design tab under the Chart Tools tab.
2. In the Type group (farthest to the left on the ribbon), select the “Save As Template” button.
3. Enter a name for the Chart Template and Save. Word saves your chart in the template folder for use in other Microsoft Office applications.
Next time you open the “Insert Chart” dialog box, the template you saved will be available for use in the “Chart Templates” folder.
