A 65-year-old scavenger was injured when he burned an electronic vape device on Oct. 7 near the entrance of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Parañaque City.
According to the report submitted by the Parañaque City Police to the Southern Police District (SPD), the incident happened at around 2:40 p.m. on Ninoy Aquino Avenue near the entrance of NAIA Terminal 1 in Barangay Sto. Nino.
Based on the initial report of the Parañaque police, the victim burned the electronic vape device, resulting in a mechanical reaction and minor explosion.
A security guard said he was rendering his duty at the parking area of NAIA Terminal 1B when he heard an explosion. He immediately responded to check and saw the victim who sustained minor injuries.
Based on the post-blast investigation, fragments of the electronic vape device were found at the site, police said.
