DEARBORN, Michigan – It is a tourist site, a museum and a venue for wedding receptions, as well as backdrop of professional video and photo engagements.

Yes, this is the elegant three-storey, 56-room mansion of Henry and Clara Ford (he, the founder of Ford Motor Co.) where they entertained the most influential people in the world in the 1920s.

The imposing and awesome "American Palace," with its beautiful grounds and gardens, now serves as a historic and formal venue for a wide range of discriminating occasions. It is now part of the United States National Historic Landmarks.

It is in this distinctive ambience that Eric Mojica and Heather Daniels received their 170 family members and guests after their afternoon wedding at St. Mary's Shrine Chapel on Orchard Lake, Michigan, last June 19.

Back to America's revered Ford Estate in Fair Lane, Michigan. Would you believe that it has its own powerhouse with generators designed by Ford himself with the assistance of his friend, Thomas Edison, that still supplies electricity to the Estate today?

Marvel some more – this powerhouse is connected by a 300-foot underground tunnel to the mansion. (The distance was, obviously, deliberate for it shielded the original occupants from the noise emitted by the generators.)

Also, the Estate has a nearby pond and cascade hidden in the surrounding woods of thick and giant fir, cedar and pine trees. It is said that Clara and Henry would go for an afternoon jaunt on the river in her boat that was moored in an underground boathouse.

The Ford couple hosted the visit in their mansion of US President Herbert Hoover, the Prince of Wales, famed aviator Charles Lindberg and, of course, his lifelong friend, inventor Thomas Edison.

And now back to the Mojica-Daniels nuptials. Fr. Michael Loyson, a Polish-American priest, was the officiant of the wedding, witnessed by Janet and Michael Daniels, parents of the bride; Florecita and Efren Mojica, parents of the groom. (Janet and Florecita also lighted the symbolic candles.)

Stephanie Daniels and Julia Forner, maids of honor; Sonia Mojica, Wendy Teifer and Belinda King, bridesmaids; Efren Mojica Jr., best man; Joe Daniels, Michael Ivers, Adam Dikeman, Zachary Yaklin, groomsmen; Jade Alley, flower girl; Mason Mojica, ring bearer; and Alex Mojica, coin bearer.

Arturo Mirasol and Teresita Salvani, Carmelo Luna and Lita Sevilla, Pete Daniels and Colleen Hegarty, primary sponsors; Amy Ivers and Michael Gambalan (veil), Ernie Angtuaco and Leslie Carrillo (cord), and Yael Seufert and Najiv Cinco (coins), secondary sponsors. LaVerne Lieberknecht, organ player.

The newlyweds Eric and Heather have this special message: "To our dear family and friends. We are so blessed to have all of you in our lives. Thank you for all of your love and support.

We are so happy you could share this very special day with us."
