Too much of everything is bad and for “Wowowee” host Mariel Rodriguez, she has already heard so much about her break-up with actor and model Zanjoe Marudo that she’d rather keep silent about it.

“I would like to respect the three years we had together so it’s better that I won’t talk about it anymore. I’m just protecting myself and what we had. Everyone knows how talkative I am. But this time around, for the first time, I hope people will respect my decision to keep quiet about it,” said Mariel during the press conference of Star Cinema’s upcoming horror flick titled “Cinco.”

Mariel cleared her current weight loss was not due to depression following their break-up.

“I intentionally tried to lose weight because I wanted to look slim in ‘Cinco.’ I can say that I’m in a happy place right now,” she said.

Her positive mindset is also the reason she is ready to go into another relationship though not hurriedly. She calls her life’s phase these days as “Mariel time” which means loving herself more.

Mariel was more open answering questions about Robin Padilla and “Wowowee” main host Willie Revillame.

She said she and Robin have become good friends after his stint on “Wowowee,” where Mariel is a co-host.

“Me and Robin never dated,” she revealed. “And about the times he didn’t go home when he was still hosting ‘Wowowee,’ it was because he slept inside the dressing room of our studio. And I wasn’t with him!”

Mariel also didn’t comment on whether Robin was courting her or not, saying she didn’t want to pressure the actor into doing.

Opening on Wednesday nationwide, the “Cinco” episode “Mukha” also casts Nanding Josef and Ketchup Eusebio.

Is it true she’s leaving “Wowowee” if and when Willie returns to the show?

“I won’t be doing that,” she replied. “We don’t have any control whatsoever as hosts of the show. We don’t actually know if and when he is coming back. We’re just waiting for management’s decision. We’re just soldiers and we just follow what management tells us to do.”
