Jaebum’s first solo album tops music charts

Come-backing singer Park Jaebum (aka Jay Park) has been making a killing in the Korean music industry since releasing his first solo album, “Count on Me,” on July 13.
The album topped a record of 13 music charts in Korea, proving fans’ unwavering support for Jaebum despite his absence in the scene for nine months due to a controversy.
As of July 14, the album was No. 1 on the following charts: Dosirak, Melon, Bugs, Soribada, Cyworld, Daum, Monkey3, Gom Movie, Yes24, Interpark, Kyobo Library, Libro and Hanteo Chart.
Based on the Hanteo chart, Jaebum’s album sold 21,989 copies on its first day and leaped to No. 1 position.
The album also became No. 12 in the overall ranking for albums released from January to July 13 this year, according to 2oneday.com, the international forum for 2PM fans.
Jaebum came back to South Korea in June to film his first Hollywood movie “Hype Nation.”
The K-pop singer is set to kick off his Asia-wide fan meeting in Seoul. It will then go to Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore in September. It may also go to US cities.
