Maynilad said the agency has been conducting regular system adjustment in its pipe distribution network to ease the water supply problem, saying that the water concessionaire had also deployed 28 tankers, installed five stationary water tanks, reactivated four deep wells and recovered over 113 million liters per day (MLD) of water since February through its intensified water leak repair program.
The firm appealed for public understanding, stressing that the company is significantly constrained by the 30-percent raw water supply reduction in Angat Dam.
Maynilad assured its customers, however, that the water concessionaire is continuously looking for ways to mitigate the effects of the water supply reduction.
Among the extraordinary measures Maynilad is implementing effective immediately are the hiring of additional private water tankers to provide free water supply, sourcing of additional water supply from the East Zone, and implementation of rotating water supply schedules in the central and northern part of its concession area.
