Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma has reminded the faithful to observe All Souls Day on Thursday, Nov. 2, properly by helping keep peace and order and staying prayerful.

In his message for the observance of All Saints Day on Nov. 1 and All Souls Day, Archbishop Palma reminded those who will be visiting their departed loved ones to do so with proper respect for those who have passed away as well as for the other visitors who might be praying.
“Observe proper respect for the departed. Let us help keep peace and order as we go to the cemetery. Stay prayerful and do nothing harmful,” said Archbishop Palma.
The Philippine National Police will be deploying more than 27,000 police personnel around the country on Nov 1 and 2 to ensure an orderly and peaceful observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day which closely follow the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on Oct. 30.
Meanwhile, the Liturgical Affairs Office of the Archdiocese of Manila has released a prayer for the faithful departed which may be used by their families when visiting the cemetery. The other dioceses have also released prayers for the dead.
Holy masses will be celebrated in parishes followed by the blessing of tombs and columbarium in some churches.
