Park Jaebum (aka Jay Park), who is now charting his career as a solo artist, revealed that he hasn’t contacted any member of his former boy band 2PM since coming back to South Korea last June.

Jaebum, former leader of 2PM, appeared in a press conference for his first movie “Hype Nation” together with the other cast members.

In the press conference, Jaebum didn’t disclose the reason that he parted ways with 2PM and JYP Entertainment, his former agency, when he was asked by reporters about it.

On February 25, JYPE said it terminated its exclusive contract with Jaebum due to his alleged personal wrongdoing.

Jaebum withdrew from 2PM last September and went back to Seattle, Washington, due to his comments on MySpace that drew criticisms.

In the presscon, Jaebum said he doesn’t consider himself as an actor yet.

“I don't think of myself as an actor yet. My acting is still lacking,” Jaebum said in a translated article posted on 2oneday.com, the international forum for 2PM, 2AM and Jaebum fans.

“Hype Nation” will be shown in 3D and will be about b-boying, a form of hip hop dancing popularly known as breaking.

Besides acting, Jaebum is now honing his singing skills. He recently signed up with Sidus HQ, one of the leading entertainment agencies in Korea.

In addition, he is also practicing his Korean language.

“I'm still not that great with Korean. I think I need to study more Korean if I want to do movies. I don't have a lot of lines in this movie but most of it is in Korean. I hope I get more opportunities to be able to act in Korean,” according to the 2oneday article.
