PRC bares 434 new physical and occupational therapists

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Wednesday announced that 434 out of 938 examinees passed the Physical and Occupational Therapists Licensure Examinations given by the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy in the cities of Manila and Cebu this July 2010.

The successful Physical Therapist examinees who garnered the ten highest places are : Ella Mae De Guzman Cruz, University of the Philippines-Manila, 88.15; Mary Grace Calma Morales, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 85.75; Patcholo Yap Paglinawan, University of the Philippines-Manila, 85.70; Joma Guerrero Cabrela Galang, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 85.60; Katrina Torres Roberto, University of the Philippines-Manila, 85.50; Paul Daniel Garcia Nerit, Manila Central University-Caloocan City, 84.65; Louis-Albert Go Lee, University of Santo Tomas, 84.50; Mary Grace Lagrana dela Peña, University of the Philippines-Manila, 84.45; Keziah Loren Pascual Shan, Velez College, 84.45; Peter Julian Rivera Menorca, University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna, 84.35; Kristin Mae Uy Decena, Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, 84.25; and Marcial Merina Patrocinio Jr., Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 84.25.

The successful Occupational Therapist Examinees who garnered the three highest places are Kim Gerald Granil Medallon, University of Santo Tomas, 81.60; Amy Fritzi Chiu Yee, Velez College, 80.60, and Anna Louisa Young Tiu, University of the Philippines-Manila, 80.20.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be from August 4, 2010 to August 20, 2010. Those who will register are  required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), two passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), one 1” x 1” pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of metered documentary stamps, and one short brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2010-2013.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the Physical and Occupational Therapists Licensure  Examinations in July as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on September 19, 2010 at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Manila.

Registration for membership with the Philippine Physical Therapy Association, Inc. (PPTA) and Occupational Therapy Association of the Philippines, Inc. (OTAP) will take place after registration as a Professional with the Board and the Commission.

The Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy which gave the licensure examinations is composed of Dr. Reynaldo R. Rey-Matias, chairman; and Raul G. Agustin, Bernadette M. Reyes, Delia R. Pabalan and Rolland Lyle D. Duque, members.
