Eight out of 10 Filipinos expressed satisfaction with the general conduct of the May 2010 automated elections, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey results released on Wednesday.

In the non-commissioned nationwide survey conducted from June 25 to 28 among 1,200 respondents, 75 percent of Filipinos said they were satisfied with how the May 2010 automated polls was conducted.

The survey also found that Filipinos were satisfied with how the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and other institutions had handled various aspects of the elections.

Meanwhile, 15 percent said they were dissatisfied with the automated polls.

SWS noted that this year’s public satisfaction with the conduct of the May 2010 elections is a marked improvement compared to the previous two elections. It cited that in 2004, 53 percent of Filipinos expressed satisfaction and 35 percent expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the May 2004 elections.

In 2007, 51 percent were satisfied and 32 percent were dissatisfied with the conduct of the May 2007 elections.
