With the recent opening of another modern facility at the Fort Bonifacio Global City, St. Luke’s Medical Center consolidates its position as the premier hospital in the country and one of the world’s best.

Jose F. G. Ledesma, President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Luke’s, attributes the medical institution’s continuing success to five factors: expert doctors, state-of-the-art technology, guaranteed patient safety, excellent success rate and passionate customer service.

“St. Luke’s is committed to provide the best care possible for our patients,” Ledesma said.

He added, however, that beyond genuine concern for the well-being of patients, a medical institution should offer the public the best in terms of equipment and services, and constantly upgrade the capabilities of doctors and other medical personnel.

“The best can be made better, and we will always strive to improve in every aspect of our operations,” Ledesma said.

St. Luke's Medical Center is the first hospital in the country and the second of 14 in Asia to be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). JCI is the international arm of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the oldest and most prestigious healthcare accreditation organization in the world.

JCI accreditation places a hospital in an elite group of health care providers worldwide that not only provide high-quality care but are also committed to continuously improving the quality of care.

St. Luke’s was first accredited by JCI in 2003. Three years later, in November 2006, the hospital underwent a very rigid re-accreditation survey by JCI. The re-accreditation recognized St. Luke’s consistent compliance with stringent international health quality standards, the attainment of the highest level of care possible, improvement of patient outcomes, and creation of an environment for continuous improvement.
