US ambassador thanks Mayor Lim
United States Ambassador Harry Thomas paid a visit to Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim last Tuesday in Manila City Hall and thanked him for the support and security given to him and other American nationals in the city.
The two officials also discussed the Martial Law years, the Metropolitan Theater, President Noynoy's SoNA, and the LA Lakers, among many others.
Lim recalled his patrolman years during the Martial Law, and mentioned how he used to secure the US Embassy then. “That was the favorite spot of terrorists,” Lim commented. "Even since then, Manila and the US Embassy had good relationship."
Thomas, in turn, praised the industriousness of Filipinos. “They are just normal people but they have been doing very well,” he said.
Thomas also noticed that since many Filipinos live in Los Angeles, a lot of them are rooting for the Los Angeles Lakers. (Czarina Nicole Ong)
