The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings back the Light the World Giving Machines this Christmas in Manila and Cebu.

“We warmly welcome everyone to celebrate the birth and life of Jesus Christ by reaching out with love and compassion to the less fortunate. The Light the World Giving Machines are returning to the Philippines this Christmas,” the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said in a news release.
“The giving focused vending machines offer a fun yet spiritual aspect to the shopping and gift-giving season in the Philippines. Unlike regular vending machines, the Giving Machines allow the public to participate in instant and affordable acts of service for fellow Filipinos in need,” the Church added.
The charity cause, which is present in 28 locations around the world, encourages the public to purchase items from the Giving Machines to help someone in need.
Through the vending machines, people can provide instant acts of kindness through donation cards for the beneficiaries of the following partners: Caritas Manila, HERO Foundation, and Mabuhay Deseret Foundation .
On the launching day of the Giving Machines on Thursday, Nov. 9 at the Ayala Mall in Trinoma, Quezon City, messages were delivered by Caritas Manila executive director Fr. Anton Pascual, Mabuhay Deseret Foundation president Ms. Kim Morrison and HERO Foundation executive director retired Major General Victor Bayani.
Ms. Anne Palpal-latoc, marketing manager of Ayala Mall Trinoma also gave a special message while the concluding message was delivered by Elder Yoon Hwan Choi, Second Counselor, Philippine Area Presidency, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Holiday shoppers are encouraged to check out the Giving Machines in the spirit of Christmas to help the less fortunate.
