All it took was one try for World Boxing Council(WBC) super flyweight champion Silvester Lopez and Thai challenger Wandee Singwancha to make the 115-pound weight limit on Friday and pave the way  for their crucial showdown at the Ynares Center in Pasig City this Saturday.

Under the supervision of Games and Amusement Board (GAB) boxing division chief, Dr. Nasser Cruz, Lopez, who was first to weigh in, and Singwancha exactly tipped the scales at 115 pounds each to the delight of the small gallery gathered at the GAB office in Makati.

Afterwards, both fighters said they were prepared and ready to go in a match where no less than the opportunity to take a shot at

the regular WBC super flyweight crown vacated by Vic Darchinyan, who decided to move up to the bantamweight division, is up for

grabs.

“Magandang pagkakataon ito na di ko palalampasin,” said the 22-year-old Lopez as he and the Thai headline the “Bakbakan sa

Elorde” card supported by Rizal Gov. Casimiro Ynares, Jr.
