Former world No. 1 Dennis Orcollo advanced to the second round of the 2010 Guinness World Series of Pool-10-Ball Challenge after completing a sweep of his preliminary assignments Thursday at the Mal Taman Aggrek in Jakarta, Indonesia.

After blanking Indonesia Jeffrey Andrianto, 6-0 in the morning session, Orcollo outlasted another Indonesian in Irsal Nasutio, 6-4, to complete his romp.

Also advancing to the next round were Carlo Biado and Antonio Lining.

Biado also completed his mastery of his Indon rivals by downing Bambang Peodjiono, 6-2, in the morning match before tripping Jimmy Jusman, 6-3.

Lining was equally sharp, beating Indonesia Adi Purnomo, 6-3, before crushing Canadian Raymond Cruz, 6-0.

Not so lucky was former world double champion Ronnie Alcano who dropped his second match to German Ralf Souquet of Germany.

Raring to redeem himself after finishing a disappointing 17th in the World 9-Ball championship won by Francisco “Django” Bustamante, Souquet quickly dispatched his Indonesian opponent in the morning session before beating Alcano.

Despite the defeat, Alcano remains in the hunt after beating Indonesia's William Tanizar, 6-3, in the morning session. Soquet’s win over Alcano enabled him to avenge his loss to Alcano in the World 9-Ball finals in 2006 in Manila.
