Mayor Vico to Pasig SK officials: You can be role models in PH
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said he believes that the city's new Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials will become role models for their counterparts in the country.
The mayor expressed his support to the SK officials during their oath-taking ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
It is difficult to lead with honesty and efficiency, but with the quality of our SK officials this incoming term, I have no doubt that you can do it and our SKs in Pasig will be model SKs for the entire Philippines),” he said.
The oath-taking of the federation officers was conducted after the SK Federation Presidential Candidates Forum, where it introduced the nominated and elected SK officials.
Elected SK Federation President KC Custillas urged her fellow SK officials to start transforming the current local government into a more progressive system.
I know we have different experiences in the past administration of the federation. Let's start changing the system and appoint a clean and modern, as well as progressive government, not only in our barangays but also in our entire Pasig),” she said.
Sotto welcomed the new federation officers and assured them that the local government will support and guide them during their term.
On Nov. 9 and 10, the city's SK winners were sworn in. They also underwent a one-day mandatory training as a pre-requisite for the new SK officials before they can officially start their term.
During their oath-taking as officials, Sotto challenged them to prove to the public that good governance is still possible in youth leadership.
