The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported that 26 out of the 81 provinces in the country remain free from the novel coronavirus infection.
Department of Health (MANILA BULLETIN)
"Ayon sa huling datos ng DOH, meron po tayong 26 na probinsya na wala pang naitatalang kaso ng COVID-19," Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a press briefing.
(According to the latest DOH data, we have 26 provinces that have not registered any COVID-19 cases.)
Vergeire said they are studying why these areas do not have cases of COVID-19, three months since the outbreak began.
"Bagama't patuloy ang pag-aaral natin sa factors o kadahilanan ng kanilang COVID-free, mapapansin natin na marami sa kanila ay geographically isolated o hiwalay. Halimbawa, dahil sila ay nasa isang isla o isang pulo," Vergeire said.
(While we continue to study the factors that make them COVID-free, we notice that many of them are geographically isolated. For example, because they are on an island.)
The COVID-free provinces are:
-Agusan Del Sur
-Apayao
-Aurora
-Basilan
-Batanes
-Biliran
-Camarines Norte
-Davao Occidental
-Dinagat Islands
-Eastern Samar
-Guimaras
-Ifugao
-Kalinga
-Masbate
-Mountain Province

-Siquijor
-Sorsogon
-Southern Leyte
