Nicole Hyala cooks up new jingle

Here’s an interesting update on radio jock and recording artist Nicole Hyala: Now happily married, she is taking her new role as housewife seriously by learning how to cook.

“As they say, the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so I’ve been really learning how to be able to cook well for my husband,” the 90.7 Love Radio DJ shares.

As to her singing career, Nicole gets to sing her first-ever branded jingle, “Hapi-Hapi” for Hapi Fiesta Palm Oil. This comes on the heels of her hit single “Mahal Kita Kasi.”

Nicole serves up the fun, tasty jingle with a nice music video to match, which can now be viewed on YouTube. The clips together with the song re-create a family bonding moment that every Pinoy household enjoys whenever a Krisprito meal is served.

On her work as a DJ

Nicole graduated cum laude with a degree in Business Management from Assumption College. But after a few years, she has found an entirely different passion as radio jock/DJ.

While humor is certainly a formula for her and partner Chris Tsuper’s success, having a different mindset in front of the microphone endears them even more to their listeners.

“That’s why we don’t do scripts at all; everything comes out naturally,” she explains.

Nicole hosts the radio morning show “Ang Tambalang Balahura at Balasubas” together with her partner Chris Tsuper at 90.7 Love Radio.

The two have also released three albums to date, the “Hey! Tambalan Na! D’ Nakakalurkei Na Album,” “Hey! Tambalan Na! D’ Mas Nakakalurkei Na Album,” and their latest, the “Hey! Tambalan Na! D’ Pinaka-Nakakalurkei Na Album.”

Fanny Serrano plays biggest role to date

Fanny Serrano, popular fashion stylist and beauty guru to the stars, is also an actor/director and he gets to play his biggest dramatic and most challenging role via the indie movie “Tarima.” In the recent past, Fanny has earned favorable notice for his roles, especially in the indie film “Tulak” for which he got nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the PMPC Star Awards.

Fanny said he is very proud of his latest movie “Tarima” where he plays a selfless gay soltero who adopted wayward youths whose lives, despite the unconditional love he has showered on them, went wrong. In the movie written and directed by Neal Tan, Fanny gets entangled once more with low lives, but this time in a correctional facility, specifically in what seems to be an innocent provision for conjugal visits called “tarima.”

This is the so-called “love nest” wherein inmates and their visitors are allowed to have intimate sexual encounters for hours or even days. In the “love nest,” inmates occasionally give vent to suppressed sexual desires with their partners who could either be their wives, girlfriends or even gay lovers.

Also starring in “Tarima” are Rocky Salumbides, Raymond Cabral, Ms. Gloria Romero and Prof. Rustica Carpio who play “grannies,” Chokoleit, Ana Capri, Oskar Peralta, Tia Pusit and five-year-old child wonder Rap-Rap Leuterio.

“Tarima” will premiere on Aug. 28 at the CCP Main Theatre before its theatrical release or participation in international film festivals where Direk Buboy’s earlier work “Ataul for Rent” was also shown.
