Sharon pays tribute to OPM

The most anticipated Sharon Cuneta concert happens tonight at the Araneta Coliseum. Simply titled “Megadrama,” it pays tribute to Original Pilipino Music (OPM), just like Sharon’s latest album under Sony Music, “Musika at Pag-ibig.”

In the album as well as in the concert, Sharon goes back to her roots as she sings OPM songs, especially her favorites, those who’ve touched her in more ways than one. The album and the concert do not only pay tribute to great Filipino composers and song artists but they are also a way to relive the life, love and music of a true icon of her generation – the megastar herself.

In “Musika at Pag-ibig,” Sharon sings “Tuloy Pa Rin,” the carrier single, along with “Eto Na Naman” by Gary Valenciano, “Bakit Ba Ganyan?” one of the ’80s favorite songs; Agot Isidro’s “Sa Isip Ko,” “Sarangola sa Ulan” by Gary Granada, “You’re My You” by Nyoy Volante, and “Habang Atin Ang Gabi” by SouthBorder, among others.

(By the way, “Musika at Pag-ibig” is now out in CDs under Sony Music. To download Sharon Cuneta’s ringback tones, truetones, full track music from the album, just text MEGA to 3456.)

Sharon’s special guests in “Megadrama” are Ms. Kuh Ledesma, Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Pokwang, Ogie Alcasid, and Sarah Geronimo in a special appearance. Guest dancers are the members of G-Force.

“Sharon Cuneta: Megadrama” is produced by a team led by Sandra Chavez’s Artist House, Inc. Musical direction is by Louie Ocampo, script by Noel Ferrer and Jerry Gracio with Rowell Santiago as director.

“Sharon Cuneta: Megadrama” is being presented by McDonald’s and Smart. Official media partners are ABS-CBN and Philippine Star. Sponsors are Tempra, Sony Music Entertainment, Discovery Suites, Aquabest, Fruit Magic, Waffle Time, Alba’s Catering, Mila’s Lechon, and Dexie’s Catering. Official concert stations are 90.7 Love Radio, Magic 89.9 and 96.3 Easy Rock.

Another first from Toni, Star Records

Toni Gonzaga, the country’s Ultimate Multi-Media Star, and recording giant Star Records has come up with a first in the music industry with the release of the first ever album magazine entitled “All Me.”

This is Toni’s fourth album under Star Records and the certified platinum recording artist and hitmaker said in an interview that “All Me” is something different from her previous albums. Aside from the album’s diverse Asian touch, the album exposes Toni in a different kind of sound.

Toni added that the carrier single is an upbeat song “na kakaiba talaga from my past albums. Listeners can dance to it pero andyan pa rin ‘yung gusto ng tao sa akin na romantic ballads.’’

“All Me” is a two-disc album composed of 13 cuts, namely “All Me,” “Can’t Help Myself,” “Only With You,” “Say You Love Me,” “I Love You So,” “Love Me,” “It Had To Be You,” “No Greater Love,” “You Make Me Feel” and “Come Back to Me” plus three bonus tracks and a separate disc that contains five music videos which were all directed by Paul Soriano, Toni’s special person.
