Ogie Alcasid announces wedding to Regine Velasquez

Singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid finally announced his forthcoming wedding to his girlfriend of seven years, Songbird Regine Velasquez.
Alcasid did so on Sunday variety show “Party Pilipinas,” Aug. 8.
But before going to the heart of the matter, Alcasid detailed some facts.
The singer-song-writer thanked those who have been supporting their relationship from the start.
Facing Velasquez, he said, “Higit sa lahat, nagpapasalamat ako sa ‘yo (Regine) dahil muli akong lumigaya.” The two kissed.
Alcasid then sang a song for the love of his life; an original composition that he wrote for her.
“I love you honey and I promise you [that] you’ll be the happiest woman,” he told her.
After Alcasid’s number, the Songbird surprised her boyfriend of seven years with a song.
Jaya, one of the couple’s closest friends, and their co-host on the show, expressed her happiness for the two.
“Of course it’s a happy feeling. I’ve always been there. I’ve seen the ups and the downs and ‘yung saya ninyo, ‘yung lungkot ninyo...lalo na sa mga lungkot. I don’t know what to say. I’m so happy.
"You’re (Ogie) such a man for doing this na sa lahat sinabi mo na gusto mo na siyang pakasalan. I’m so happy for the two of you...finally. parang dininig na.
"And all we can say is congratulations and may you have a happy life, a happy, happy life,” she said.
Regine, who was at that moment, bursting with emotions, said the wedding is just to seal the happiness she's had with Ogie.
I guess when you really, really love somebody that much, ‘yung mere presence ng tao make you emotional.”
Alcasid, however, did not say if the wedding will be on Dec. 22 as reported by an entertainment online publication a few days back. Even during the couple’s interview on “Showbiz Central”after the rumor broke, Alcasid repeated his intention to marry Velasquez without disclosing any date.
"I really want to marry this woman. That is the desire of my heart. And should that be granted by God, then I'd probably be the happiest man on earth. That is what we've been praying for. If it is granted, then thank you Father. It will be a great blessing. And I promise you (facing Regine) I will make you the happiest woman on earth," he said then.
To which Regine retorted, "Parang sa buong buhay ko naman, wala naman akong ibang gustong mangyari kundi pakasalan ni Ogie Alcasid!"
Alcasid’s ex-wife, former beauty queen Michelle Van Eimeren, had already married her Australian boyfriend Mark Murrow on Nov. 21, 2009. Alcasid and Eimeren has two daughters, Leila and Sarah.
