The island of Coron in Palawan has many natural attractions. It also has at least one man-made attraction and it happens to be the distinctive architecture of a resort.

What distinguishes the Coron Hilltop View Resort (CHVR) is its unique shape and layout.  Its 19 guestrooms are octagon-shaped, which creates more space for guests. Designed by Architect Jun Rodriguez, the modern building is especially stunning when viewed from afar. The style is unmistakably Asian, but in this rustic and hilly setting, the hotel looks surreal.

Jaime L. Gomez, a co-owner of this Coron resort, says the building’s unusual shape, coupled with the large windows and verandas, allows more natural light to set in. The owners also opted to use granolith as material for the roof, which helps cool the place during the hot summer months.

Coron Hilltop View Resort is located at Barangay Poblacion 6, Sitio Dipulao, Coron Palawan. For more information call manila office: (+632) 682-48-76/ 645-28-18. Mobile nos. +63917-5229873/ 0921-9836023. Website: www.coronhilltopview.com
