A fire gobbled up some P100,000 worth of property from an office at the Quezon Hall of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman Campus Sunday night.

FO1 Jessie Dielon, arson investigator of the Quezon City Fire District (QCFD), reported that the fire started at around 9 p.m. inside an office at the ground floor of the Quezon Hall.

Initial investigation showed that the fire probably started when one of the computers or appliances in the office short-circuited.

The flames quickly spread towards the rest of the office as firemen tried to put out the fire. Firemen declared fire out at 9:22 p.m.

The fire reached the second alarm before it was put out. No one was hurt during the fire.

Arson probers suspected that those who occupied the office might have left some of the appliances or personal computers open last Saturday, causing one of them to overheat.
