Marikina City 2nd District Rep. Romero Federico Quimbo left for Hong Kong Wednesday morning to gather data on the arrest of Ilocos Sur Rep. Ronald Singson who was arrested at the Chek Lap Kok airport last July 11, 2010 for possession of illegal drugs.

Quimbo, who is Vice Chairman of the Committee on Justice, left for the former Crown Colony Wednesday morning aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR 318.

According to Quimbo, he was assigned by the Congress to gather information regarding the case of Singson to give the House legal basis on how to handle the case.

“I was assigned by the House of Representatives to gather documents, piece of evidence and information on Rep. Singson’s case,” Quimbo said.

“Kailangang makalap namin lahat ang ebidensya para malaman namin kung kinakailangan siyang bigyan ng sanction or disciplinary action para hindi siya tularan at para huwag madamay ang ibang mga Congressman,” Quimbo added.
