ILOILO CITY—After an almost six-month hiatus, the Small Town Lottery (STL) in Iloilo province will be revived.
Janette Oberio-Lloyd, Iloilo branch manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), announced that Red Subay Gaming Corp. will start its operations on October 8.
Federico Damole, PCSO Visayas department manager, said Red Subay has been granted by PCSO a notice to proceed operations.
Red Subay replaced Eagle Crest Gaming and Holding Corp., which ceased operations after its owner Samuel Aguilar was shot and killed last March.
Eagle Crest’s closure led to a brief resurgence of illegal gambling in the 42 towns and component city of Passi.
With the presence of Red Subay, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) foresees that illegal gambling will be curbed.
Red Subay projects P111 million in monthly retail receipt (PMMR).
Oberio-Lloyd said local government units (LGUs) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) will benefit from the STL because they have a share from its profits they will utilize to fund social programs.
