ANTIPOLO CITY – The city government will run after people who are not paying their real property taxes as delinquency in the payment of these dues has resulted in a P300-million loss in local government revenue.
Mayor Nilo Leyble said Monday he has been appealing to Antipolo residents to avail of the tax amnesty program to update their unpaid real property taxes over the past nine years.
Leyble said this is the best time for them to settle their arrears because of the amnesty program.
Under the program, the local government will waive penalties and even extend a 20 percent discount to delinquent real property taxpayers.
He said the funds generated from this would be used for basic services.
